Electronic Program Guide
AVIQ’s Electronic Program Guide (EPG) software module allows for seamless integration of live TV content with OTT content. Offered as a software license, we provide full support and customization as needed.
The EPG Platform
The EPG software platform provides modules that cover the whole path form the EPG data aggregators via a server to the individual clients at the home. There are 3 parts:
- EPG front end, destined for the server, automatically takes care of interfacing with the EPG data aggregator. We have relationships with data providers all over the world, and new suppliers can be integrated as needed.
- EPG server and database, to be installed on customer’s servers, takes care of data management, access control and filtering.
- EPG client, running on the end-user platform, provides automatic log-on, data management, updates of all changed broadcasts and local database management.
The EPG client can be integrated with STBs, Media Centers, and Connected TVs to provide an unprecedented depth of information and versatility of use.

The TV Program
Users always know what is on thanks to the automatic EPG download.
One click on the button and the “What’s on now” list appears, detailing all programs that are on or are about to begin.
Sort the list by genre such as Films, Series or Documentaries, or by station and time.
Find any program using the Search function for a specific genre, artist or a keyword. Favorites are used for even more comfortable searching.
Once the desired show is found, one button press suffices and the programming is done. Moreover, by selecting Multiple Record, all recurring episodes are found and recorded automatically.
Comprehensive Program Guide
Many of the shows in our EPG contain not merely the title and the start time of the show, but a host of interesting metadata:
- Station, title, genre, start/end time, duration and a short description of the show
- Information on the actors, directors and others involved in the show
- Show rating on a 1-5 scale
- Captioned images from the show
