What is TIPc
TIPc is a combination of two separate but connected technologies: an end-user device, and a web marketplace service. The end-user device is a client software package that runs on AVIQ hardware or 3rd party hardware. It lets end-users experience the Internet and all types of digital media, from the comfort of the sofa. The web marketplace helps operators and advertisers build new business models and revenue streams from these over-the-top services.
The TIPc client software is highly-modular and highly-portable, and therefore available to run as a whole or as modules, on AVIQ-designed hardware or 3rd-party hardware. In addition to being the engine that interacts with the TIPc web marketplace, the TIPc client software gives end-users unrestricted access to the Internet, including all video formats and all video sites. Websites and/or videos that don’t fit well on a TV screen are easily zoomed and panned to increase viewing comfort. The TIPc client software also offers local access to movies, music and photos that are stored on an internal hard disk or on the home network.
The TIPc web marketplace services offer advertisers and operators a direct sales channel to their customers (i.e. the end-users). Products such as music, videos, news or even physical items such as wine or vacation packages are uploaded, and the TIPc end-user device then presents these products to end-users on their TV screen in an attractive, customized way. Products are targeted to the most appropriate end-users based on demographics, and statistical tracking offers feedback on which products are most successful.
